Dear colleague,Registration is now open for the next Pilots training course, 19th-22nd January 2010 at La Cité des sciences et de l?industrie, Paris, France. With Pilots, the Ecsite network is working towards the professionalisation of the role of explainers in science centres and museums both through developing European training courses and through research on the role of explainers.
This Pilots training course will bring together best practices from across Europe. Over four days, explainers will come together to discuss key issues and work on the skills and competences necessary for the role, with a particular focus on working with adults, current science, and controversial issues.
Participation is free, while travel, accommodation and food are at the expense of the participants. Please note that the workshop is open only to explainers who have a direct interaction with the public (i.e. not managerial staff, heads of explainers etc) and who have not attended previous courses in Milan or Mechelen. Places are, of course, limited, and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Please find the programme and registration form available to download from the Pilots website (http://www.thepilots.eu/activities.html). For more information about the project and previous workshops, please see the Pilots website (http://www.thepilots.eu/), and our online community of science explainers, the Pilots Hub. And please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions.
All the best,
Michael
